Junior Software QA Engineer - Remote

We are hiring a Junior Software QA Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a fully remote, paid position for motivated individuals looking to build their careers in Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing.

The successful candidate will work closely with developers and product managers to test web and mobile applications, identify and document software defects, and help ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute manual, functional, and regression testing for web and mobile applications.

• Review business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed test cases and test scenarios.

• Plan and execute test cases and accurately document testing results.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools.

• Perform regression testing to ensure new updates and fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality.

• Re-test resolved defects and verify that issues have been successfully fixed.

• Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve software issues.

• Perform exploratory and usability testing when required.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to QA activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Contribute to improving QA processes, test documentation, and overall product quality.

• Assist in identifying potential quality risks and areas that require additional testing.

• Maintain clear and organized QA documentation and test reports.

Technical & Professional Requirements:

• 1+ year of experience in software testing or QA is preferred.

• Good knowledge of software testing methodologies and QA principles.

• Solid understanding of manual testing and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Experience creating and executing test cases and test scenarios.

• Experience with defect reporting and issue-tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and databases.

• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Familiarity with testing web and mobile applications.

• Basic knowledge of API testing and tools such as Postman is a plus.

• Ability to analyze requirements and identify potential edge cases and testing scenarios.

• Familiarity with regression, exploratory, functional, and usability testing.
